The perimeter of a rectangle is 60 inches. if the length is 4 more than 3 times the width, what is the length and width of the rectangle

    Width = x

    length = 3x + 4

    x + x + 3x + 4 + 3x + 4 = 60

    add

    8x + 8 = 60

    subtract

    8x = 52

    x = 6.5

    width = 6.5

    length = 23.5
