    1. Get the same denominator for all fractions.

    7*2/6*2 = 14/12

    1*3/4*3 = 3/12

    7/12 = 7/12

    2. Add the numerators and keep the denominators

    14/12+3/12+7/12 = 17+7/12 = 24/12

    3. Simplify the fraction

    24/12 = 12/6 = 2/1

    Our final answer is 2

To add fractions, they must have the same bottom number (denominator).

Let's choose a new denominator to change all of these fractions to. It should be divisible by all of the previous denominators.

12 is good, since it can be divided by 6, 4, and 12.

Now we need to change these fractions into a denominator of 12.

    Let's start with 7/6.

We can multiply the numerator (top) and denominator by the same number and still have the same fraction, so what we do is

    a. Notice that 6 has to be multiplied by 2 to get to 12.

    b. Multiply the top and bottom of 7/6 by 2, showing tht 7/6 = 14/12.

    Now for the rest.

    1/4 ... 4 needs to be multiplied by 3.

    1/4 = 3/12

7/12 already has the right denominator.

Now, we can add up our fractions!

    14/12 + 3/12 + 7/12

    Just add together the numerators.

    24/12

This can be simplified! The top and bottom are both divisible by 12, so ...

    24/12 = 2/1

And of course a "divided by 1" is redundant, so our answer can just be 2.
