A thermometer shows that the outdoor temperature is 40 degrees Celsius. Use the formula F = (9/5) c+32 to find the temperature F in Fahrenheit.

    Insert 40 for c in the formula; (9/5) times40 which gives you 72, and then add 32 to that to give you your answer of 104.
