Allison can make 4 fruit parfaits.

Since one parfait requires 1/8 cup of yogurt, add:

    1/8 + 1/8 + 1/8 + 1/8

They all share a common denominator, so:

    1/8 + 1/8 + 1/8 + 1/8 = 4/8

Simplify your answer (divide numerator and denominator by the common factor of 2):

    4/8 = 1/2

1/2 represents the total amount of cups of yogurt used. Since it took adding 1/8 four times that represents 4 parfaits.
