Your home phone company charges you by the minute. Last month you used 125 minutes and your bill was $37.50. This month you used 175 minutes. How much will your house phone bill be this month?

    Cross multiply so it becomes 37.50 over 125 equalling x over 175. You then multiply 37.50 times 175 and 125 times x to get 6,562.5 = 125x. You the solve for x and get 52.5!
