    X is unknown

    Quarters 25x

    Dimes 10 (x+5)

    Nickes 5 (x-4)

    Solve for x first

    25x + 10 (x+5) + 5 (x-4) = 470

    40x + 50 - 20 = 470

    40x = 440

    x = 11, number of quarters
