    9 pairs

    Step-by-step explanation:

The total budgets takes care of the cost of display case of $95 as well as the cost of all possible pairs of shoes that Clarence could afford.

After having deducted cost of display case, the balance left to purchase shoes is $1,105 ($1,200-$95)

The number of pairs that Clarence can purchase is the balance of $1,105 divided by cost per pair of shoes which is $115

    number of pairs=$1,105/$115=9.61

Since it not possible to buy 0.61 portion of a pair of shoes, Clarence would only buy 9 pairs in different colors
