    Remembe, distributive property

    a (b+c) = ab+ac

    so

    for 3 (2x+1), that is 3 (2x) + 3 (1) = 6x+3

    so

    2+3 (2x+1) + 2x+1=

    2+6x+3+2x+1=

    6x+2x+2+3+1=

    8x+6

    8x+3

Combine like terms! Multiply the 3 by the 2x and 1 as well, since it is in parenthesis.
