    They're linear and opposite inverses

    Their y-intercepts are the same and their slopes are opposite inverses

    y=2x+4

    y=-1/2x+4

    linear quations

    both have the same y intercept (=4).

    y=2x+4 is positive straight line, slope = 2

    y=-1/2x+4 is negative straight line, slope=-1/2
