Flying to Kampala with a tailwind a plane averaged 158 km/h. on the return trip the plane only averaged 112km/h while flying back into the same wind. find the speed of the wind and the speed of the plane in still air.

    The easiest way would be to subtract 112 from 158 to get 46 that is the difference. Then divide by 2 to find the speed of wind, in this case that would be 23. So the wind speed was 23 km/h and to get the plane speed add or subtract 23 from the sped of the plane (112+23 or 158-23) to get 135 km/h so the plane moved at 135 km/h while the wind speed was 23 km/h
