The steps in factoring a polynomial with four terms are:

    F. factor by grouping

    A. factor out a GCF

    E. factor a perfect-square trinomial

    D. factor a difference of squares

Group the polynomial into sets of two. Since there are 4 terms, you can group it into 2 sets of 2 terms. Find, the GCF of each set and factor it. You can continue factoring until there is no more term to factor.
