    Y = - x² + 3x - 1

    x = 2y - 1

    x = 2 (-x² + 3x - 1) - 1

    x = 2 (-x²) + 2 (3x) + 2 (-1) - 1

    x = - 2x² + 6x - 2 - 1

    x = - 2x² + 6x - 3

    - x - x

    0 = - 2x² + 5x - 3

    x = - (5) + / - √ ((5) ² - 4 (-2) (-3))

    2 (-2)

    x = - 5 + / - √ (25 - 24)

    -4

    x = - 5 + / - √ (1)

    -4

    x = - 5 + / - 1

    -4

    x = - 5 + 1 or x = - 5 - 1

    -4 - 4

    x = - 4 x = - 6

    -4 - 4

    x = 1 x = 1.5

    2y - 1 = x

    2y - 1 = 1

    + 1 + 1

    2y = 2

    2 2

    y = 1

    (x, y) = (1, 1)

    or

    2y - 1 = x

    2y - 1 = 1.5

    + 1 + 1

    2y = 2.5

    2 2

    y = 1.25

    (x, y) = (1.5, 1.25)

    The two solutions is equal to (1, 1) and (1.5, 1.25).
