X^3/x (I hope this is what you mean)
Step One: Convert each x into the appropriate power.
x^3/x^1 (makes it easier to divide)
Step Two: Spread out the x's.
x*x*x/x
Then we divide three x to one x.
x*x
x^2
The answer is x^2.
