What are the coordinates of the vertex of y=-x^2-8x+2?

    The vertex is when x=-b/2a

    in this case, b=-8, a=-1, so x = - (-8) / 2 (-1) = - 4

    when x=-4, y = - (-4) ²-8 (-4) + 2=18

    so the answer is B.
