    Y=X2+X-6

    =X2+3X-2X-6

    =X (X+3) - -2 (X+3)

    = (X-2) (X+3)

    Therefore X=-3 and X=2

    Putting both values of X in the equation

    Y=X2+X-6

    = (-3) 2 + (-3) - 6

    =9-3-6, = 0

    Y=X2+X-6

    = (2) 2 + (2) - 6

    =4+2-6, = 0
