The length of a rectangle is three times the width. the area of the rectangle is 108sq in. what is the width of the rectangle?

    L = 3W

    Area, A = L x W = 108 in2

    Substitute L = 3W into the area equation, you get

    A = 3W x W = 108

    3W2 = 108

    W2 = 108 / 3 = 36

    W = √36 = 6 in
