The growth of one child is represented by the expression 5x - 1. The growth of a second child is represented by the expression 2x + 3.

Complete and simplify the expressions to represent the total growth of both children.

    5x-1=2x+3

    subtract 2x from both sides.

    3x-1=3

    add 1 to both sides.

    3x=4

    3/4 is. 75

    answer is 3/4
