    large tank volume = 6 litres

    small tank volume = 3 litres

    Step-by-step explanation:

    Given that,

    The combined volume of 3 large tanks and 2 small tanks is 24 litres.

    The combined volume of 2 large tanks and 3 small tanks is 21 litres.

    Suppose large tank volume = x

    Suppose small tank volume = y

    First Equation

    3x + 2y = 24

    Second Equation

    2x + 3y = 21

    Now solve them

    3x = 24 - 2y

    x = (24 - 2y) / 3

    Put value of x in second equation

    2 { (24 - 2y) / 3} + 3y = 21

    2 (8) - 4y/3 + 3y = 21

    16 - 4y/3 + 3y = 21

    3y - 4y/3 = 21-16

    5y/3 = 5

    5y = 15

    y = 15/5

    y = 3

    3x = 24 - 2 (3)

    3x = 18

    x = 6
