A soccer player is going to kick a ball from one corner of a field to the opposite corner. If the field is 64 meters long and 48 meters wide, how far will the soccer play have to kick the ball?

    The path of the ball is the diagonal of the rectangle.

    You can use the Pythagorean theorem.

    a^2 + b^2 = c^2

    64^2 + 48^2 = c^2

    4096 + 2304 = c^3

    6400 = c^2

    c = 80

    Answer: 80 meters
