One gallon of paint covers 200 square feet. How many gallon are needed to paint a rectangular floor that is 60 feet by 40 feet

    Area of floor = (60) (40) = 2400 square feet

    1 gallon for 200 sq ft

    (2400 sq ft) / (200 sq ft) = 12 gallons of paint
