    The equation given in the question is

    3x^2 + 22x - 16 = 0

    3x^2 + 24x - 2x - 16 = 0

    3x (x + 8) - 2 (x + 8) = 0

    (3x - 2) (x + 8) = 0

    Then either

    3x - 2 = 0

    3x = 2

    x = 2/3

    Or

    x + 8 = 0

    x = - 8

    So from the above deduction, we can conclude that the value of "x" cam be either 2/3 or - 8.
