A garden table and a bench cost $1025 combined. The garden table costs $75 more than the bench. What is the cost of the bench?

    b=bench

    g+b=1025

    g=75+b

    subsitute

    75+b+b=1025

    75+2b=1025

    minus 75 both sies

    2b=950

    divide both sides by 2

    b=475

    the bench costs $475
