We know that the distance he walked is half of the last quarter of his journey, so to get that last quarter, we multiply by 2:

    800 * 2 = 1600

It says that 3/4 of his journey was went by bus. 1600 is only the last quarter of his journey, so we multiply is by 4 to get the total distance he traveled:

    1600 * 4 = 6400 feet total
