If you take - 3/10 of a number and add 1, you get 10. Write an equation to represent the situation. What is the original number?

    Equation - x = - 3/10 + (10-1)

    The original number is 9.3 because

    x = - 3/10 + (10-1)

    x = - 3/10 + 9

    x = 9.3
