Mrs. Jones decided to buy some pencils for her class. She bought 6 packages of pencils, and each package contained 38 pencils. There are 19 students in her class and she divided up the pencils so that each student had the same amount of pencils. If there were no pencils left over, how many pencils did each student get?

    12, each package was enough for a student to have 2, times 6 packages would equal 12

    The answer: 12 pencils.

    The process: 6 packages of pencils x 38 pencils each = 228 pencils total

    228 / 19 students = 12 pencils per student!
