    Profit = 51300 thousand dollars

    Explanation:

    Cost function in thousands of dollars is given by C (x) = 45 x + 8700, where x represent number of tricycles sold.

    Revenue of function R (x) = 75 x

    We have the expression for profit = Revenue - Cost

    Number of tricycles sold = 2000

    Revenue = 75 * 2000 = 150000 thousand dollars

    Cost = 45 * 2000 + 8700 = 98700 thousand dollars

    Profit = 150000 - 98700 = 51300 thousand dollars
