    311.5 meters, 18690 meters

    Step-by-step explanation:

    first question you dicide 1869/6

second question you divide 20/4 to get five then multiply that by 1896 to get 9345, however you have to account for the trips backs you need to multiply it by two

1, Breaks at 267m 534m, 801m, 1068m, 1335m, 1,602m. = 6 equal breaks. So his first break is 267, as this shows equal breaks for the first journey as asked in question.

    2. 9,345m = 5 journeys with 4 pieces of wood. = 934500cm

Double for return is more likely answer Return is = 18,690m = 1869000cm as they asked for cm and was total distance as asked in question to deliver 20 pieces of wood.

    Step-by-step explanation:

This is easy instead of dividing by 6 we divide by 7

This is because the 6th break would not be at the start or at the end.

An example is with number 10 and 4 breaks

2,4,6,8 are the breaks if number was 10.

But if 10 asked for 5 breaks it would go decimal and divide by 6 which is one more than 5.

    So the answer to 1) is 1869/7 = 267m, (+267) 534m, (+267), 801m, (+267) 1068m, (+267) 1335m (+267) 1602 metres.

Here he still walks for another 267 minutes and finishes meaning he had 6 equal breaks before hand, before he finishes the journey with the wheelbarrow.

    Answer 2) We divide 20/4 = 5 then multiply 1869 x 5 to equal the 4 pieces of wood x 5 times. We find 1869 x 5 = 9345

Note you would have to show long division ie) 9 x 5 under each other as long division workings, note is the only product that you do not 'add a zero to' as its tens, so that when you multiply out 5 x 6 = 5x 6 as a zero is added to make 5 x 60 below that you get answer 300 and 9 x 5 is above is showing 45 and continue with the hundred and thousand product underneath until you get to 9345.

Then as it is a return journey we take 9,345 x 2 and say return journey = 18,690m
