What is the answer: 1 2/5x - 12 + 2 3/5x = - 6x + 8 - 7x

    combine like terms

    4x - 12 = 8 - 13x

    add 13x to both sides, and add 12 to both sides.

    17x = 20

    divide by 17, and get the answer: 1.18
