Hey! ☺️ So, the answer you're looking for is:

    28 eighth graders

    28 sixth graders

    14 seventh graders.

If there is a total of 70, it means that 100% is 70. We know the percent of students that are in six grade and the percent that are in seventh grade. So we simply just have to add the 40% and 20% to get the 60% we already know. So then you'd subtract the 60% from the 100% to get the final 40% of students.

    28

    Step-by-step explanation:

    40% 6th graders of 70 total = 28 6th graders

    40% 6th graders + 20% 7th graders = 60%

    100% - 60% = 40% 8th graders

40% are 8th graders therefore the answer is 28
