Why can't the sum of two mixed numbers be equal to 2?

    If it is a mixed number they have to have a whole number already, right? Well let's say that the whole numbers were 1, if you add them together they would be two but you would still have the fractions. Therefore, two mixed numbers can't equal 2. I hope I explained that in a way easy to understand.
