    3x^2 - 2y ... when x = 3 and y = 5

    3 (3^2) - 2 (5)

    3 (9) - 2 (5)

    27 - 10 = 17

    2x^2 - 3y ... when x = 3 and y = 5

    2 (3^2) - 3 (5)

    2 (9) - 3 (5)

    18 - 15 = 3

    17 - 3 = 14 ... it exceeds it by 14
