A pool at a park takes up an area of 540 square yards. The lengthier 1 2/3 times as long as the width. What are the dimensions of the pool?

    Xy = 540

    y = 5x/3

    x (5x/3) = 540

    5x^2/3=540

    1630=5x^2

    x=sqrt (1620/5) = sqrt (324) = 18

    x = 18yd

    y=30yd

    answer: 18 x 30 yards
