The formula for volume of a prism is V=Bh, where V represents the volume, B represents the area of the base, and h represents the height of the prism.

Arletha has the measurement of 23 in3 but does not know which variable this measure represents in the formula. Which value could Arletha's measurement represent?

    This would be the volume, V because its units are in^3.

    If it were B it'd be in^2 and h would just be inches. The product of Bh gives

    (in^2) (in) = in^3
