How do you solve f (x) = 4x (2) - 4x-3?

    If by 4x (2) you mean 4x to the power 2 or 4x^2 ... it can be solved in the following way

    f (x) = 4x^2-4x-3

    =4x^2+2x-6x-3

    =2x (2x+2) - 3 (2x+2)

    = (2x-3) (2x+2)

    Therefore x=3/2 or x=-2/2 = (-1)
