    As y decreases x increases so its an inverse variation.

    y = k / x

    when x = 2 y = 4

    4 = k/2 so k = 8

    the required equation is y = 8 / x

    Check for the 2 last values:-

    2 / 3 = 8 / 12 = 2/3 which checks out
