Every year the library club plans an end-of-year-trip. The club usually starts fundraising at the beginning of the year to ensure it raises enough money. Ethan tells the members that anyone who is planning to go on the trip will need to sell 10 raffle tickets and 5 admission tickets at the annual fair. There are 28 members who plan to go on the trip.

(a) Write two expressions showing the total amount of money the club will make if all 28 club members meet their goal. Use r to represent the price of each raffle ticket and a to represent the price of each admission ticket.

    each member must sell:

    10 raffle tickets

    5 admission tickets

    1 member:

    10r + 5a

    all 28 members:

    28 (10r + 5a)

    (28 * 10r) + (28*5a)
