Daughter's age now = d

movie star's age now = m

7 years ago:

m - 7 = 11 (d - 7)

m - 7 = 11d - 77

m = 11d - 70

Now:

m = 4d

Substitution!

4d = 11d - 70

5d = 70

d = 14

Plug in the daughter's age to find the movie star's age!

m = 4 (14)

m = 56 years old
