If three students are to divide a $600 reward in the ratio of 2:3:7, then how much does each student get?

    2x+3x+7x=600

    Add up the three ratios

    12x=600

    divide each side by 12

    x=50

    2x=2*50 = 100

    3x = 3*50 = 150

    7x = 7*50 = 350

    Each student gets : 100,150,350
