If a = 1, b = - 2, and c = - 8, find the roots of the quadratic equation.

    1.) find the equation (the formula is Ax^2 + Bx + C, so plug it in)

    2.) Plug it into your calculator's Y = X^2 - 2X - 8 (if you have one)

    3.) Press 2nd, Calc, 2

    4.) Go to the X Intersect, it will say Left Bound at the bottom left corner

    5.) Press the left arrow about 3 or 4 times, hit enter

    6.) It will now say Right Bound in the same corner go back to the X intersect, now press the right arrow 3 or 4 times

    Repeat steps 3 to 6 for the other X intersect.
