4 - 8=9-6X
Move - 6X to the other side, sign changes from - 6X to + 6X.
4X+6X-8=9-6X+6X
4X+6X-8=9
10X-8=9
Move 8 to the other side, sign changes from + 8 to - 8.
10X-8=8=9+8
10X=17
divide by 10 for both sides
10X/10=17/10
X=17/10 or X = 1 7/10
Answer: X=17/10 or X = 1 7/10
