Given f (x) = 3x-1 and 9 (x) = 2x-3, for which value of x does g (x) = f (2)

    f (2) is a constant, fill in x=2 for 3x-1 and find that f (2) = 5

    So you have to solve g (x) = 5, ie., 2x-3 = 5

    So add 3 to both sides and simplify:

    2x - 3+3 = 5+3

    2x = 8

    x = 4
