Brandi and Amanda are buying fabric to make costumes for a musical in which they are performing. At the craft store, they select 3 7/8 yards of blue fabric, 5 1/8 yards of green fabric, and 3 1/3yards of white fabric. If Brandi and Amanda want to split the cost of the fabric evenly, and each yard of fabric costs $7.50, about how much would Brandi pay towards buying the fabric?

    3 7/8 + 5 1/8 + 3 1/3 equals 12 1/3

    12 1/3 multiplied by the cost of each yard of fabric (7.5) is 92.475

    92.475 divided by the 2 girls who are splitting the cost is 46.2375 which you can round up to 46.24 (correct answer)
