    Divide both sides by a

    1/2=e^ (-8.859t)

    take the ln of both sides

    ln0.5=-8.859t

    divide both sides by - 8.859

    (ln0.5) / - 8.859=t

    0.078242147=t

    thousandts

    0.078=t
