    well complementary angles are 90 and 90, so this means that we have to equal 90 degrees.

    39+x=90

    90-39 = 51

    x = 51

    Complementary angles add up to 90 degrees.

    Subtract 39 from 90.

    90 - 39 = 51

    The complement of a 39 degree angle is 51 degrees.
