We'll my teacher gave us a question and I really don't get it, it says "write an equation for the Nth term of each arithmetic sequence" and "a1 = 3 over 5, and common difference d=1 over 3"

    An=A1 + (n-1) d.

    It is basically asking for a general formula to find any number in a sequence

    So your answer would be.

    An=3 + (n-1) •1

    If you were supposed to find the 10th number in the sequence then you can plug in 10 for n

    An=3/5+1/3 (n-1)

    this is the equation because the formula for it is an=a1+d (n-1)
