    (1/3) (6 + 3 + x) = 9

    9+x = 27

    X = 18

    Check

    27-6 = 21

    21-3 = 18

    18-x = 9

    9 on comic books

    $9 left

    27 (1) 3 = 9 and he spent $9 on comic books

    Started with $27
