Hello:
-2 (x + 1/4) + 1 = 5
- 2x - 1/2 + 1 = 5
- 2x = 1/2+5 - 1
-2x = 1/2 + 4
-2x = 4.5
x = - 4.5/2
x = - 2.25 = - 9/4
