The rate of the plane in still air is 740km/h

The rate of the wind is 140km/h

Because: 3700 km in 5 hours is the plane in still air. So we need to do 3700:5 which equals 740. So we knows the plane in still air is 740km/h. To find the rate of wind we know that 4400 km in 5 hours is the plane plus the wind. So we need to subtract the plane itself from the equation. 4400-3700 is 700. 700 is the rate of wind in 5 hours so we need to divide. 700:5 equals 140, which is our final answer.
