    The expressions are equivalent because they have the same numbers. It wouldnt matter where the parentheses are there or not they both equal 47. Parentheses is what you add first but since they are the same exact three numbers it wouldnt change the sum.

    Step-by-step explanation:

    (12+15) + 20

    (12+15) = 27

    27+20=47

    12 + (15+20)

    (15+20) = 35

    35+12=47
