Walmart truck driver estimates that it will take him 12 hours to drive 1158 km. After 5 hours, he has drive 484 km. (a) According to his estimate, how long would it take him to drive 1 hour? Show your number sentence and solution. (b) Is he on schedule to arrive on time? Explain your reasoning.

    Obviously if it takes him around 12 hours to drive 1158 km. Then by ratio method we can calculate how much time it takes for him for one hour. So 1158/12 = 96.5 in one hour.

    Now for the next part we can see he drove around 484 after 5 hours. So we can see his average of 1 hour by 484/5 = 96.8 so according to this pace he might arrive a little before time.
